This tutorial is done in Photoshop. This tutorial should be used for dark images, but you can always alter this when doing it with a lighter image, just play around with the settings!

1. Crop your image to 100 x 100
2. Filter > Sharpen > Sharpen
3. Edit > Fade Sharpen. Fade it to 70%
4. Duplicate your base twice. Set the first duplicated layer (the one on top in the layers palette) to Soft Light at 100%. Set the second one to Screen at 70%
5. Layer > New Adjustment Layer > Hue/Saturation. Set the Master Saturation to +45
6. Layer > New Adjustment Layer > Brightness/Contrast. Set Brightness to +3 and Contrast to +6
7. Layer > New Adjustment Layer > Curves.
Input: 86
Output: 93

And that's it! All you have to do is merge your layouts! I hope you found this tutorial useful!
